Special Needs
Having listened to your needs as far as children with Special Needs and disability are concerned, it was decided to put together a list of useful sources of information. This will only be a sample of what is available but if anyone has found any others that have been really useful please feel free to contact us using the form on the right and we will add them to the list.
For general information on Special Educational Needs, including a wide range of factsheets, refer to the Scout Association website.
For specific help and queries contact them via the Information Centre:
0845 300 1818
or
special.needs@scout.org.uk
The Scouts factsheets - additional needs directory - are regularly reviewed with new ones being introduced as needed.
Information and resources from external organisations:
Autism/Asperger’s/Dyspraxia Support
The National Autistic Society has a very comprehensive website that has a wealth of information on Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome and a specific worksheet for cub leaders which could be adapted for other age groups
